Bess is a hands-on investor and adviser to early-stage and VC funded startups. She is actively involved in solving critical matters in her portfolio including market product validation, customer development, business model, partnership development, fundraising and M&A activities. She is known to be creative in turning around struggling businesses for profit or exit. She started her career as an both R&D Scientist and Engineer leading to her experience in AI business intelligence and data analytics domains in early internet days. Bess earned her graduate degree in Food Science & Technology from University of California at Davis.
Bess was Executive Director and VP of Speakers at Association of Internet Professional Silicon Valley Chapter, Founder of Silicon Valley Web Builder, Paypal External Counsel, Samsung Mobility Star. Not only Bess received numerous industrial recognitions and special newspaper coverage in business section of major US and China newspapers her advised and invested startup won a long list of awards and honors that results in raising over $60M.
Bess is positioning CSPA as a cross-border mobile-first and people-first organization. With her dedicated efforts CSPA is considered as Top 20 China Organization in US by Wharton School of Business. Under her leadership CSPA would become the fastest growing Chinese organization in the Mobile-first Millennial era.
Shail RajputVice President
Shail brings rich industry experience including teaching, software development, consulting and management to CSPA. He is currently Director, Product & Test Engineering at Western Digital, managing mass-production test software development for SSDs and Storage Appliances covering Consumer, Enterprise and Data Center segments. Prior to WD, he held various technical/management roles at SanDisk, TierLogic, Invarium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, and HCL America among others. As a software consultant, Shail has provided services to Wave Computing, Boeing, Plexus, Indian Railways, and World Bank. Shail earned his Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering with Distinction from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Oregon Graduate Institute (acquired by OHSU.) He is a Stanford GSB LEAD and also holds the Stanford Certified Project Manager and the Certified Software Development Professional (SWEBOK master-level) credentials from the IEEE Computer Society.

Simon He is a senior finance executive with extensive corporate and operational financial management experience with both public traded companies and VC backed pre-IPO companies/startups.
Simon currently works as the Director of Finance with a Nasdaq-listed company based in the Bay Area. He manages corporate budgeting, reporting and analysis, and drive financial modeling to support business development, strategic investment and Mergers & Acquisitions. He also leads the company’s finance transformations in cloud-based Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Financial implementations.
Simon held CFO/VP of Finance positions with VC backed technology companies in both U.S. and China. He worked with underwriters/attorneys/auditors on due-diligence review, prospectus drafting and financial audits, and led the uMessage’s IPO process for listing at Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX). He built finance and accounting infrastructure and supported successful funding from VC investors for Augmedix and Baidu leho.com. He led financial management supporting operations and strategies at Chinabank Payment, which was acquired by JD.com.
Simon started his career with PwC and then worked for multinational companies such as Unilever, Ecolab and Dell. He managed operational finance, U.S. GAAP audits, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, and led audit projects at almost twenty countries in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific regions.
Simon is a U.S. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and China Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Simon holds a MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business with concentration in Finance and Strategy. He graduated with a B.S. with Accounting major from Beijing University of Technology.
Cherrie TanExecutive Secretary
Cherrie is a law student focused on providing assistance in corporate matters including entity formation and employment issues. She has co-founded food programs, and has an interest in international business. Cherrie is pursuing a J.D. at Santa Clara University with a High Tech Law Certificate specializing in corporate law, and a B.A. in Political Science and Global Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara.
Winnie MakOperations Director
Winnie Mak has over 15 years of experiences in technology specializing in cloud computing and machine learning. She has a strong technical background with a good balance of business acumen. She has held positions in Technical Leadership and Program Management from early stage startup to established enterprise. Her responsibilities includes product strategies, portfolio management and engineering operations.
Winnie has a M.S. Degree in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley.

Dave Nielsen is a Sr. Developer Advocate at Intel. Dave was also a Developer Advocate at Redis Labs. Prior to that, he was principal consultant at Platform D where he helped companies such as Salesforce, Glam, Nirvanix, Wetpaint, Cloud.com, HP, Metamarkets and Couchbase create and run their own developer communities. Prior to Platform D, Dave was at Strikeiron and PayPal where he was their first Technical Evangelist and went on to help grow the PayPal Developer Network to over 350,000 developers. Dave gained modest notoriety when he proposed to his wife in his book PayPal Hacks. Dave is also the co-creator of the CloudCamp, a grassroots community for sharing of information about Cloud Computing.

Lisa Jin works at Certara as a data analyst since June 2017. She received her Bachelor degrees of applied math and cognitive science from University of California, Berkeley. Lisa is excited to meet intelligent people and work hard problems with them. Her career goal is to have her own technology platform which discovers kids' studying and learning method to make learning hard subjects like math and science more fun and more scientifically possible for everyone.

Helen provides strategic legal advisory service for space, tech- transport (Air, Land, Sea & Space) and Artificial Intelligent (AI) and robotics (STAR) for start ups and businesses.
Working with lawyers, startups and businesses to develop and advise on law and policy focusing on mission statements, risk management, strategic advice and values alignment.
Collaborating with Senior Management, Leaders, States, NGOs, Inter-Governmental Organisations and Think Tanks delivering seminars and talks in Australia, China, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Ghana, Oslo, Sweden, The Netherlands, UK and USA.

Prior to settling in the bay area, while serving as a US Marine, John received bachelors’ in Economics, Philosophy and Psychology from University of California, Davis, masters in Organization Development from University of San Francisco, and lead a leadership development organization.
